In business, experts say, that you must brag about your successes, you must share your ideas, you must be out there and let people know how good you are, or not, but be there, expand and try and see how it goes. Do not be shy or modest, it does not help. If you are good, then brag about it, and if you believe that you are good, then better, brag more.


In politics and in love, I claim, same metrics applies. Actually, in politics, there is more urgency, probably, to brag it and to show it more; losing or winning an election could resemble, arguably, losing or winning the heart of your dream woman.

The bottom line you need to be out more, and in democracies, bragging is not a choice if you want to survive and win, bragging is a must. Modesty in politics does not take you anywhere, or maybe it could take you to a term, or it could give you sympathy, but, most of the time,  not much more.

Since making history in November of 2008 and becoming the first African-American President of the United States, Obama did not sit still and just accepted the honor for what it is, just being elected president and making history. He understood then that was just the tip of the iceberg for him and that he needs to do more to cement his legacy and make the legacy beyond an "accidental" President  in the US history.

Obama did not want to be a coincidence, or a footnote or because America felt guilty and needed to elect a black president. Obama in 2008 has completed phase one of his task and got elected. Since that historic victory in 2008, Obama has not stopped campaigning, he established an organization that carried him to another historic milestone; to a second term in November of 2012.

He finished the second phase of his campaign in 2012 and immediately started the third and fourth phases. The third phase which is taking place right now is to win the midterm Congressional elections in 2014 and take over the control of the House and continues his control over the Senate through his party, the Democratic party. In order to do so, to take over Congress.

Obama continues the campaigning process through an organization he established immediately after reelection which is OFA (Organizing For Action); during re-election OFA stood for ( Obama For America), lead by his dream team of advisors that helped the dream of 2008 to come true and cemented the legacy in 2012.

OFA although claims independence is Obama’s action group, it is sending emails left and right and it is reaching to every corner in the US where influential counties in every state make usually a difference in the 2014 elections as they did during the 2012 presidential elections.

President Obama knows that his agenda will not pass Congress unless he controls it. All signs so far are showing one way street leading to a Democratic victory in 2014 and a passage of the Obama agenda on gun control, immigration, economic reforms and more taxes on the super rich.

And here we come to the fourth phase of the Obama campaigning which will take place after he leaves office in 2016-2017 which will make him probably the most influential former president and politician in America through the same organization that gave him two terms in office and made him join the very exclusive club of former Presidents with two terms.

Obama’s influence will continue through electing politicians and influencing lawmakers nationally and at state levels that share change, his vision of change, and keep the legacy roaring. Welcome America, to Obama Inc.

هادا عرفات جاب أول ما إجا على الضفة وفي رام الله عمل للفلسطينيين عاصمة، واحد إبن ستين كذا من عرب إسرائيل إسمة أحمد الطيبي وعمل من تلك المؤخرة مستشار، حلقة وصل مع إسرائيل، عرفات إما إختارة بإرادته أو "نُصِحٓ" به، الطيبي هادا يعني عيني عينك بقولك انا ابن ...دم اهلة تقيل ومنافق عيني عينك وأفاق من الطراز "المتميز"

In the Shadow of Yitzhak Rabin: Shimon Peres no more Number Two

Shimon Peres in the hospital fighting for his life that has extended to witness the birth of his country in 1948 to today calling for a Palestinian state next to the State of Israel.

The story of Shimon Peres is the story of Israel, pain and joy, and through the pain and joy and optimism and resilience, the Israelis built a first rate country in the Middle East.

Shimon lived most of his political life in the shadow of Israeli's general, Yitzhak Rabin, they were rivals and friends but Peres never really established his independence in my opinion as his own person until he was elected to the ceremonial position of the president of the state and founded the Peres Institute for Peace. Before,  Peres was more of an operative, the man of secret missions and secret negotiations and secret programs.

In a November 2, 2015 interview with the Associated Press, Israel's political stalwart and the father of the Jewish state nuclear program Shimon Peres warns of internal Israeli conflicts and says two-state solution is the only path to preserve Israel as a Jewish state; Peres says Israel could face an eternal war

In a regional conference in Shuna Jordan on May 22, 2015 Shimon Peres said: "I'm convinced that there will be no better alternative (to) the two-state solution," said Peres, who is also a former prime minister. "I believe it is possible. I believe it is needed. I believe that peace negotiations can be resumed and the sooner the better."

In 1995, Rabin of Israel was murdered by an Israeli Jewish fanatic who until now (most do not know who "inspired" him to commit his crime) Shimon Peres was positioned to win elections and becomes PM but then all of a sudden, a barrage of suicide attacks hit Israel buses and cities and Bibi Netanyahu was elected. Peres never emerged after that to become again prime minister, a position he lived to have on his own all his life; Peres never won an election to the prime minister on his own; he always had to either to share it with someone or win it with someone.

But now Peres gained his independence and he now his own man and earned his credentials.

Israeli Arabs and Palestinian Jewish: Israel and Palestine Today not Yesterday

Why not, it can be done, it already exists; Israel has a 20% non-Jewish population, mostly Arabs who remained in their land after the UN Resolution 181 of 1947 to divide historic Palestine between Israel and Palestine; the Arabs rejected and lost and Israel accepted and prospered.

The story of glory and sadness has moved through generations of Arabs and Israelis with no resolution or yet a final conclusion.

But now the times are for a solution, a peaceful solution, a realistic solution; the Arabs and Muslims are geared toward the unavoidable resolution and historic correction of a wrong course they took since 1947.

Israel knows very well that a Palestinian State in Gaza and the West Bank with Jerusalem open and shared is not a choice, is not a luxury, but is a must, no other way around it, it will happen, it has to happen.

Israeli Jewish residing in the Palestinian West Bank of the Jordan River must be given the choice, either stay and become dual citizens or choose a Palestinian citizenship- Palestine in Gaza and the West Bank should cherish having a Jewish population among its population, or move and  reside in the State of Israel.

As for the Israeli Arabs, they must engage positively in their society and their priority is Israel and not Palestine; they must push themselves to engage politically, to democratically seek to share their share in governing their country, the State of Israel; same applies to the Jewish population that choose to stay in the future Palestine in Gaza and the West Bank.

Palestine is the West Bank and Gaza, the rest is Israel with Jerusalem open and shared between the State of Israel and the State of Palestine-this fact must be taught to future and current generations of Jewish, Muslims and Christians, it must be embraced, it must be believed to happen as a fact and not as just an opinion or a even a choice.

The Palestinian people are the people of Gaza and the West Bank and part of Jerusalem and their priority is Palestine and not Israel.

Again, majority of the Israeli people understand that peace means a Palestinian state in Gaza and the West Bank with Jerusalem open and shared; historically the obstacle to creating the Palestinian state has always been caused by shortsighted Arab and Palestinian leaders and not only shortsighted but collaborative with others to prevent Palestine from existing next to Israel or delaying it from existence pending the game of politics in the Middle East.

But time is now, the Middle East is going through a transformation that will force Israelis and Arabs to make things happen and to accept each other; ISIS, the terror group, is presented as the common enemy to both Israel and the Arabs and the Muslims. 

The hardest thing on earth is to make peace and the easiest thing on earth is to make war and that is why it takes many wars to make the lasting or enduring peace.

Good Morning Jerusalem

The Arabs and Muslims easily and comfortably should recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and at the same time and by the same token, the State of Israel should recognize Jerusalem as the capital of the State of Palestine in Gaza and the West Bank; the above is not a puzzle but common sense and reality.

The Palestinians once they have clean and elected leadership should assume with the Israelis responsibilities over Jerusalem.

Jerusalem is for the Jewish and Muslims and Christians and for whoever wants to visit and pray in peace; Jerusalem is not for one or the other.

One choice: Two people in two states with Jerusalem open and shared. Once the Palestinians have their state in Gaza and the West Bank, they and the Israelis- if both choose to do so- can talk about other options for the two of them to live together.

Hillary, Hillary, No other Choice but Hillary

Hillary Now, but  why Hillary, The short answer and the only answer is because the other choice is Trump.

The path technically and arguably is clear for Hillary to win the presidency; the other nominee is way out there making it clear that he is not about the presidency but about making a statement to show Americans so clearly that he should not be elected president.

No other nominee in the history of the United States has intentionally made it so obvious that he does not want to be elected president and he does not qualify to be president and basically begging voters to vote for the other candidate like Trump has done and is doing.

The Trump factor in American politics will help us understand more the imperfections in our society, the hatred some have for others for no reasons except for the way they were raised and for the way they choose to be.

In America, regardless of the nominee, a percentage of voters have always voted across party lines, so no matter what, historically, they have voted for the party they have voted for or their parents have voted for.

Things are changing in America and have changed, with Trump, people have realized how serious the the process of electing a president, we have realized it as well profoundly when we elected Obama twice and now among a minority of voters, there is a backlash against that fact, that we elected a black president for America.

The Trump factor is not about moving America forward but about catering to those who wants America to move backward, knowingly or unknowingly.

To support Trump is in actuality a support to isolationism and to support xenophobia and to support racism  that have always existed in America, Trump might not himself be all the above, he is the typical selfish demagogue that talks the talk but never walk the walk.

The job of Trump is to bring to the surface the worse in this country and to show the world that we are normal and we have our shortcomings and America has basically its social defects like every other society. However the process in America is slightly different, by bringing the worse to the surface, we usually counter that by bringing the best. We have to show the difference, we have to show the other choice and we have to show the danger of the other choice.

Angry white men and angry minority of whites who think that their country has be taken away from them, are voting for Trump although most of them know in heart that he cannot win, he just cannot; everything in America now and Trump profoundly is helping to feed into it shows that Hillary will be elected president.

Arguably, the way Trump is handling the campaign shows as if he is willingly is moving and helping America to realize that no other choice but Hillary, that no other safe choice but Hillary and that no other sane choice but Hillary. Trump based on events is helping Americans and undecided voters to elect Hillary.

Hillary comes from a background, an American background that believes that as long as you are clever enough and as long as you do not break the law in so obvious ways and as long as you have proved in temperament and in practice that you can function, then we will give you the chance to function, we will elect you and we will live with your imperfections and your shortcomings; we did the same with Bill Clinton.

Not only that, but if no other choice or if you are the only choice for whatever reason, being a woman is a big factor in Hillary's case, we will help you to be elected by showing and bringing adversaries that will help you shine and rise.

Republicans in the 1992 elections defeated their own, George Bush, by bringing an eccentric billionaire from their own party-Ross Perot- who helped Bill Clinton becomes president, Bill Clinton would not have been able to make it on his own without Perot taking away vital votes from Bush the father. Same thing happened to Al Gore in 2000 when Ralph Nader basically took his 500 votes that made George W. Bush president. America made the right choice with Bush though because Al Gore proved beyond doubt that he is not only not likable but to many coming across as an annoying elitist. 

Most voters in this elections year hoped to have a normal Republican to elect as president but there was none, all candidates could not stand up to Trump's message of defiance and Republicans were so angry that they refused the others, but again the others could not absorb the anger and transition it into a positive force to create a message that can elect them.

Practice and events have shown that Hillary can govern, that she can move things forward, that she can be inclusive and she can most importantly to may Americans complete the social agenda of president Obama.

Hillary Clinton will overcome the email server issues and the Benghazi attack and handling and will pass through the various political metal detectors that even if they beep and flash red alert , we will turn a blind eye and we will have her pass through and rides a wave that will place her again in the White House but not as the first lady but as the President of the United States.

A Different 4th of July for America 2016 by Jamil Shawwa

This year, we Americans, are called upon to re-establish the foundations of Americanism that were created on Independence Day July 4, 1776, and we are called upon by our own experiences not by our politicians to ensure the Republic and the Union stand tall in the face of voices of hatred and division.

We are facing a challenge this 4th of July presidential elections year and it is so serious; never before that a major party had a nominee that publicly preaches hate and fear and isolationism to create a false momentum to win the day; Trump has no political platform, he does not care to create a platform, nor does he really care about America; Trump wants to have a show, wants to prove America is ignorant and Americans are naive enough to elect a joker, a demagogue, a billionaire that is telling America, by acting like me, you can become like me, little Trumps all over America preaching vulgarity even violence to get things done; Trump is preaching ways we have always had but never used as a country and as a nation.

But the Democrats also do not have the great nominee if such thing ever existed, we have Hillary with tainted political and personal record and while competent to be president, probably, she and her husband already built a reputation for being tricky and even dishonest; the choices are tough and so challenging and so dangerous that things can tilt either way

In America, we have always had fear mongers, adventurous eccentric millionaires and billionaires demagogues and politicians trying to hijack the will of the people but at the end of the day they never won.

America even while sometimes looked as if it is moving backward, has always moved forward.

America was not made to be just a country among countries, America was made to lead and arguably to be the world's safety net against destructive tyranny. We believe seriously in peace among nations and we at the same time will go to war to make sure peace prevails.

We Americans rescued Europe and the world twice from killers in Europe and we have established NATO and the European Union and the IMF and World Bank and the United Nations to create what we believe as win-win situations

We have done it the American way, America never followed Europe's politics; America has always had its own brand of politics

But America will work with all kinds of adversaries all over the world and we will sometimes create adversaries as needed; there is no utopia on earth and we are pragmatic enough to know there is no utopia and we do not want to create a utopian world

America cannot isolate itself from the world; evil will come to us if we do not maintain the most powerful nation, most engaging nation on earth status; but also America must fight homegrown terrorists, Americans who hate America and the federal system, killers like Timothy James McVeigh of the Oklahoma federal building bombing and Dylann Storm Roof of the black South Carolina Church murders and Omar Mateen of the Orlando nightclub murders

Last but not Least, we Americans are not Africans, or Europeans or Asians or Latin or Arabs or Jewish or Christians or Muslims or Hindu and Buddhists, We Americans are all of the above and more

We Americans are not looking to have people loving each other, we are looking for people who can work together.

Americanism vs. Trumpetism

Donald Trump-so obvious now- is not changing the rules of the game, he already changed it: He is bringing his show "The Apprentice" to American politics, he is changing how Americans, arguably, have been since independence over 239 years ago; Trump is bringing to surface vulgarity and rudeness and anger long dropped to pragmatic Americans and making them look cool and fun and things it's ok for children to use and imitate. 

Trump is bringing cruelty and at the same time stupidity that America has long dropped since the civil rights movement in the 1960s when America confronted its shameful slavery past and came to reconcile with its presence and gradually but confidently started to correct its history.

Now, it is a new civil rights that America confronts. By having Trump as the Republican nominee for President of the United States, America has already brought to prominence a person who attacks religions, attacks billions of people all over the world because of who they are and in whom they believe and for their beliefs and a person who gladly and generously taps into human beings worst instincts: fear, xenophobia, insecurities and prejudices. But also a person who is attacking others not out of principle but out of demagoguery. Some might look at him as just a an idiot, a joker, a nobody or somebody who is always better to have or bring to the surface than having an ideologue who attacks others based on stubborn and rigid twisted principle or set of evil principles.

The big question today: What if Arabs and Muslims say ok, let Trump ban Muslims from entering the US and we will ban oil from going to the US and we will withdraw hundreds of billions of dollars from American banks and we will shut down the US economy.

What if Latinos stop working in US farms in Southern states and elsewhere because Trump shows hatred to Mexicans and other Latinos.

What if Americans- White Christians, Arabs, Jewish, Asian and Hispanic- whom Trump have insulted and patronized one way or the other, decide to create a task to ask Trump, who is in reality a big Batman Joker, how is he going to implement all of his idiotic rhetoric, how.

How Trump, the ruthless demagogue, would answer that big question. He probably will answer the way he has been doing from start by saying he does not mean it, circumstances have changed, he did not see it that way then, to the rest of things demagogues use and say when cornered to answer and cornered to reply and justify. Until this moment, no one really heard anything substantial from Trump. And here is the danger, populations of Americans do not care, they just want hate to be spread and prejudices to be publicized and enmity is broadcasted and shared.Americans across all ethnic groups long to vent but instead of a revolution, we got Trump.

In reality, Trump neither will nor could he ban anyone from entering the US; in the same token, Muslim and Arab countries will not stop oil shipments to America and will not withdraw funds and paralyze the economy; same applies to Latinos. The reason is simple: Trump cannot and will not follow through on any of the extreme fanatics and demagoguery statements he made since entering the presidential race and galvanized angry Republicans and some Democrats and Independent around him. 

America is better off than it has ever been, America is the strongest on earth, international coordination is at its best, Americans in general and individually are better off, so why the anger.

The only explanation that come to mind is greed, is wanting more individually without the willingness to pay your dues, moreover, anger over paying our taxes, anger over the need to sometimes work harder and refusing to accept what we have accepted for decades, which is if you work hard and smart, you will live well in America. Greed that makes you blind thinking that immigrants or illegal immigrants are actually obstacles in the path of your success.

Now, for our failures, we are blaming others, we are blaming Muslims, and Latinos and we are blaming the Democrats and we are blaming the Republicans and we are blaming Obama and we are bringing to surface a vehicle of demagoguery and hate called Trump to drive us to the unknown, to take us back, to older darker past, a past that was polluted with hatred and prejudices.

Americans are blaming their country for their individual failings or what out of greed is preserved as failings: If your health insurance has changed, you are angry, if a customer service rep on the phone treats you bad, you are angry and saying the country is going back: back where, America in the past was not as kind, but it never entertained the idea of isolationism and xenophobia  so where do you want to go. Is there a population among us that wishes to live in America in separate islands, in gated communities with their own kind and looks. How the new generation of Americans can entertain or accept such thing. The only explanation to Trump's appeal is greed. How America will respond in November  is everyone's guess, but Trump has a momentum now and although logic defies any possibility that he could win and becomes president, the possibility cannot be completely sidestepped and ignored. Logic and politics not always go side by side.

Here is another  explanation which is we are tired of being too nice, too careful, too politically correct that we are as humans are eager for some nastiness and some vulgarity and rebellion: Basically we need a little trash in our lives,  a little Trump running in our DNA.

Trump is inadvertently doing things that could be construed as important: He is making people talking more, bringing things up, people talk more politics, kids are involved more in politics, they know more, they talk about him and about Hillary.It has become a daily topic.

But the worst part in all of thisTrump fiasco is what he is teaching Americans and America and the new generations of Americans. Trump is teaching kids, and they are imitating him, that it is ok to be rude and it is cool actually to be obnoxious and it is ok to be overboard angry and without reason angry. Trump is teaching us to be vulgar and inhuman. And that is the worst part of Trumpetism.
